In a city still better known for its Disney and Seaworld affiliations, one of the largest annual industrial expositions in America took place just recently: the International Plastics Showcase at the Orange County Convention Center. Our booth at the show (#50055) was well-attended. We got in touch with old customers and distributors, made new contacts and potential clients for our friends in the plastic industry, and forged new linkages with both the plastic and heating sectors. For those who weren’t there this year, it was a convention to be remembered for a long time to come.
Over 1,900 companies from across North America (and the globe) exhibited the latest in products and services on the whopping 920,000 sqft. Convention floor. One of the principal themes of the show was “The Return of the Machines,” reflecting on the general optimism many manufacturers now feel about the reinvigorated American industrial sector, and how equipment exhibits once again were dominating the showroom floor. Furthermore, there were new demonstrations of bioplastics technology, an overarching emphasis placed on sustainability for the plastics industry, and thirteen international pavilions that focused on all the latest plastic tech innovations from everywhere from Austria and Canada to Egypt and India.
We can only hope that next year’s NPE will be as instructive and business-friendly as this year was.
